Pfeifer & Langen is one of Europe's leading sugar manufacturers. At six production and refining sites in Germany and a further 13 factories in Europe, the family-owned company processes sustainably grown sugar beet and produces a wide range of sugar specialities. Its long-standing customers include both the food industry and food retailers, where Diamant and Kölner Zucker brand products are sold. The company also produces animal feed from sugar beet and develops quality products for the non-food industry. The product range comprises several hundred different product specifications according to individual customer requirements. It ranges from granulated sugar in a wide variety of granulations to liquid sugar, icing sugar, caramel sugar syrups, candy farine, organic sugar, gelling sugar, coulours, fondants, flavoured sugars and many other functional sugars. The strategic focus is on beet sugar. Pfeifer & Langen therefore primarily processes beet from the regions of the production sites and supplies customers in the domestic markets in Europe. This regional focus is sustainable, reduces long transport routes and is also a statement in favour of local agriculture, with which the company feels closely connected. The family business Pfeifer & Langen was founded in Cologne in 1870 and employs around 2,500 people in production, finishing and sales locations in Europe.
